Give Us Our Daily Bread

Who writes a Holy article on a Wednesday when you aren't a Pastor? Major Pane does. I realize that people's hearts are hungry for what the Bible says, yet they are in denial.

The Lord's Prayer in Matthew comes to mind each day I wake to see the breaking news. Not only are the headlines disturbing, but the thoughts of being denied specific opportunities based on the varying level of societal ignorance.

Matthew 6:9-13

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

Bread is the reason why a man will do as many horrors in the world. Bread in this context can mean food, cash, money, fame, anything that sustains the flesh.

Man finds it hard to listen to God because they are caught up in their skills, prowess, intelligence etc. Thats why the Christian life isn't for everyone. It's for those who can see the unseen and establish "Faith" the Heavenly currency.

Alot of folks are Christian because of what they can get from God. I am a Christian because of what God did for me on the cross. "He died for me."

Looking at the Heros of Faith in Hebrews 11:5-6

By an act of faith, Enoch skipped death completely. "They looked all over and couldn't find him because God had taken him."

We know on the basis of reliable testimony that before he was taken "he pleased God."

It's impossible to please God apart from faith.

And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.

I feel like dropping the mic at this point, but let's continue.

Are you genuinely acknowledging that God exists, or do you only think of prayer when you need daily bread?

Wrap up

God isn't an ATM; neither is He the police who comes to your rescue nor prayer, your 911 call that drags his attention. You have to play your part; you have to believe with your heart, confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Personally speaking, I have unlimited experiences of God's provision.

Practice living a Christ-centered life and watch your daily bread provided for.
