Major Pane's Life At 30

Who I am today, is what I designed for my future self. Thank God He granted my wish.

Today I clock 30. I have heard people talk about the sour taste they feel on this day. I guess its a case to case basis. I'm not comparing myself with anyone; that's why I will go ahead to tell you how I feel.

I feel fulfilled, accomplished, and ready to hit the ground running for the next phase of my life. Among the unlimited list of goals I had set for myself to achieve when I am 30, I want to highlight three. My intention is to spark something within you.

1. Acquire unbeatable self-control: As a man, I find this a stumbling block for many men out there who are slaves to themselves.

Money, sex and fame are never-ending gratifications we think we can get enough. The more we follow the path, the more we go into the rabbit hole of no return.

I made up my mind at an early age that slowly but surely, I will get to this phase where I can resist temptations (no matter how beautiful it looks); the first thing that comes into my mind is "What can this offer?". The moment I start questioning my values, purpose etc. The temptation suddenly gets disqualified, and the thought dies.

Tip: You are the only one who can convince yourself to be prey or not.

At the moment, it’s a lot more interesting because I don't entertain distractions as I have come to realize that healthy boundaries save your kingdom.

2. Set up a business in line with my purpose: Back in Nigeria, Africa, I used to be a Digital Marketer. Flash forward to today, I have experience in coordinating projects and coaching. I never knew I would someday come back online as I stayed away from social media for 2years during my relocation to Canada.

I had video editing, graphic design, writing experiences under my belt, but they were rusting away. Staying off social media taught me how to rebrand myself and gave me the space to explore opportunities, fail and relearn. The suffering paid off.

With the right counsel from my mentor, dedication and consistency, I realized that I have the skills needed to thrive as a coach.

Tip: Sometimes, the spark you need can be through an in-activity.

3. Attain spiritual maturity by possessing a quality relationship with Jesus: If you study your Bible very well, there are patterns great men followed, launching into greatness at 30.

– Joseph was 30 years old when he became second in command to Pharaoh after being in prison as a slave in Egypt (Genesis 41:46).

– The priests officially entered service at age 30 (Numbers 4:3).

– Saul became King when he was 30 years old (1 Samuel 13:1).

– David became King when he was 30 years old (2 Samuel 5:4).

– Ezekiel was called by God as a prophet at age 30 (Ezekiel 1:1).

– Jesus officially started his ministry at age 30 (Luke 3:23).

I currently possess the boldness to talk about God and my devotion to him regardless of what people say or think. There is this excitement I get to pray, study the Word, fellowship and serve in any capacity.

It can only be God that can bring me this far. I'm not taking any credit but giving all to him for yet another year to ensure I get you to live a purpose-driven life.
