What Happens After You Witness A Massive Breakthrough?
I only hear talks about how to get your breakthrough and less about when you get your breakthrough. Many people usually slip back to the previous state or even worse position after they get a breakthrough.
1 Corinthians 16:9 because a wide door for effective service has opened to me [in Ephesus, a very promising opportunity], and there are many adversaries.
I only understood this verse once I started having a significant breakthrough in my life—something I have never witnessed.
Upon hearing the word "adversaries," we might think it's from the outside unknown that adversaries can come from within.
We can be our destruction if we allow fear to envelop us.
This fear expresses itself in multiple ways. Let's take a look at some of these fears.
Fear of self
I have heard alot of coaches drum “imposter syndrome” into our ears. Informing their audience why they feel this way and how to get out of it.
It's like winning a lottery. Your sense of reasoning shuts down. You are emotionally vulnerable at that point to make financial mistakes that could endanger your entire life.
Financial advisers usually advise you to chill and seek more financial advice so you don't become like the other 90% of lottery winners who went broke in a few years.
Sometimes, it's crucial to give certain breakthroughs time to sink in. Consider taking cold showers or keeping a record of your thoughts over an extended period to understand the root cause of your emotions better.
This empowers and equips you with the inspiration (tools) to press forward.
2. Fear of losing something precious
You know how much you fought to get to this point. Here you are on that hill; a fear grips you. "What if I slip and fall? What if something dangerous attacks me?
While entertaining this fear, you might create your pathway to destruction.
Ever heard of self-fulling prophesies?
The self-fulfilling prophecy is, in the beginning, a false definition of the situation evoking a new behaviour which makes the originally false conception come true. The specious validity of the self-fulfilling prophecy perpetuates a reign of error. For the prophet will cite the actual course of events as proof that he was right from the very beginning.
What you don't want to do is fearfully mitigate risk. It's best to take your steps one at a time and make them intentional actions.
3. Fear of the unknown
This point follows up on the previous one. "What can go wrong" lingers like you are waiting for the other shoe to drop.
This fear robs you of the enjoyment that you deserve. It erodes your happiness and makes you more anxious.
It would be best if you reminded yourself that;
Proverb 10:22
“The Blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorry with it"
4. Fear of missing the old and not appreciating the new
You're likely to miss the previous lifestyle wherein you worked long hours on the multiple campaigns you embarked on.
Some breakthrough comes with freeing your schedule, creating a massive whitespace in your calendar.
This can create an uncomfortable feeling and make you think something is wrong.
Some folks are likely to fill this time with something negative instead of a positive activity like resting, studying, or fellowshipping, which is essential in maintaining the new stage that God has brought you to.
What should you do after the breakthrough;
I'd recommend some things I am doing currently and it would be helpful to you.
Press closer to God
I can't shout how important this is. As new opportunities come, opposition arises "from within and outside."
Only God can give you the courage and wisdom to navigate these things.
Matthew 4:4
"But he answered, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
Spend time on Thanksgiving and build a better relationship with God. He is the only one who can give you the strength to strive at this new level.
Staring at Jesus prevents you from sinking. We can ask Peter
Matthew 14:29-31
29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately, Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
2. Serve
I notice how serving drives you deeper toward your purpose in life. A life without service is like a motor engine not serving its purpose. If it sits there for long, not only will it gather dust, but it will rust away.
Find opportunities to serve using your gifts, insights, intellects, skills, and especially with the newly acquired wisdom.
You need to trust God for other bigger things if not, you’d settle, and this might hinder you from exercising your faith.
It will benefit others to learn from you, primarily as you have fought to this level. As you are the hero, you must train others to become such.
The world is looking up to you.
3. Don't act on your intrusive thoughts
There is a specific type of success that opens you up to more temptation. Either you have the opportunity to meet more women or handle more money than in your previous role.
Recognizing God and giving him complete control over your life would be best.
The devil is excited to tempt you day and night, but we must remember that we have a choice not to act on it.
James 1:13-15
13 When you are tempted to do wrong, do not say, "God is tempting me." God cannot be tempted. He will never tempt anyone. 14 A man is tempted to do wrong when he lets himself be led by what his bad thoughts tell him to do. 15 When he does what his bad thoughts tell him to do, he sins. When sin completes its work, it brings death.
Wrap up
Always remember that the devil’s job is to steal, kill and destroy. We are in a real spiritual warfare. It is getting more intense every day, and many men are failing.
I pray that you remain strong and consistent in your breakthrough while maintaining this massive success you have been gifted with.
